About Me
Keeping Employees Productive

Last year, I realized that a few of our employees did not have the best intentions when they came to work. It seemed like their goal was to slack off and avoid work, and it was really frustrating. I realized that I had to do something in order to make things right, so I started working with them to train them. I also installed a camera system and explained the consequences of their actions. Within about six months, we were able to completely overhaul things, and it made a huge difference. This blog is all about keeping employees productive and on track, so that you can keep your company viable.

Workplace Fun: 5 Positive Ideas For Corporate Awards To Loosen Things Up

Grace Hanson

Sometimes, going into work every single day and working the same measly job day-in and day-out for eight or nine hours a day can become rather tedious. As an employer, you need to recognize this and figure out a way to incorporate some fun into the workplace. One way to do this is to offer corporate award plaques for positive actions. Here are five ideas to help you get started:

1. Green Thumb Office Award

Although there are plenty of people who have a brown thumb and can't keep a plant living to save their lives, there are many that actually have a green thumb and are successfully able to provide plants with the tender, love and care that they need to thrive. More than likely, there is at least one person in the office that succeeds in taking care of their desktop plants, or even all of the plants in the office. Give this person the Green Thumb Award for ensuring every single plant within their cubicle or work space is beautiful and thriving.

2. Running with the Bulls Office Award

There's always one person that is more willing than others to take risks, especially a big risk that can help land a huge client. If you have a fearless worker that never backs down from a risk, no matter how large and even if they've been unsuccessful in the past, the Running with the Bulls Award should be awarded to them.

3. The Baby's Bottom Office Award

Do you have a smooth talker among your employees - a person who can talk their way through hard negotiations effortlessly? Provide that person with the Baby's Bottom Award to recognize their ability to always get themselves and your company out of an otherwise sticky situation and show them that you truly appreciate what they do for you.

4. The Pit Bull Office Award

Some employees are better at negotiating than others and refuse to give up when times get tough. This can be extremely taxing mentally, so lift their spirits with a fun award that demonstrates their perseverance with clients. Recognize their mental toughness and dedication with The Pit Bull Award because, just like a pit bull, they latch on and don't let go until the problem is solved.

5. The First Responder Award

There are always some workers that you can count on more than others, even if you don't want to break the truth to all of your employees. However, there's usually at least one that is always there whenever they are needed. Sometimes, they show up without you even calling them. For the person who is by your side or another worker's side no matter what and who is willing to drop what they're doing to lend a hand, give them the First Responder Award.

Remember, these corporate award plaques are supposed to be fun and help lighten the mood in an otherwise stressful environment. As an employer, it is crucial that you take the time to reward your employees for various actions that keep the workplace going. This can do wonders in maintaining a positive and happy work environment for your workers.
