About Me
Keeping Employees Productive

Last year, I realized that a few of our employees did not have the best intentions when they came to work. It seemed like their goal was to slack off and avoid work, and it was really frustrating. I realized that I had to do something in order to make things right, so I started working with them to train them. I also installed a camera system and explained the consequences of their actions. Within about six months, we were able to completely overhaul things, and it made a huge difference. This blog is all about keeping employees productive and on track, so that you can keep your company viable.

4 Concerns When Using Cremation For A Loved One

Grace Hanson

Do you have a loved one that requested to be cremated after they pass away? If so, you may not know what to expect when you have to carry out the actual cremation process. Here are some questions you're likely to have about cremation.

Do You Have To Attend The Cremation?

The actual process of cremating the body will take several hours, and you do not have to be at the crematorium in person for this process. Some people prefer to be there as a form of closure, while others would prefer to not be around the process of turning a loved one into ashes. The choice is up to you, and most crematoriums will allow you to attend if you desire.

One thing to keep in mind is that attending the cremation may not be an option. If the funeral home does not have cremation services on-site, they may use a third party that does not allow viewing to handle the actual cremation process. If attending the cremation is important, make sure that you know if it is allowed before you select your vendors.

Why Do You Still Need A Casket?

Even though you are cremating the body, you still need a container for the body to be cremated in. However, this is not the traditional casket that you are thinking of for a traditional burial. You'll need to purchase a basic casket made out of extremely flammable material. This is necessary for the cremation process since it is burned with the body.

Is Embalming The Body Necessary?

Having the body embalmed is only necessary if you were to have a traditional viewing of the body before the cremation. In that instance, preparations would need to be done to the body to preserve it. If you are not having a traditional viewing of the body, then the embalming process will not be necessary. You can have the crematorium go directly to the cremation process when they are ready.

Do You Need To Select The Urn Before The Cremation?

You may have a desire to select a specific type of urn for the ashes. However, you do not need to have that urn on hand for the cremation. The crematorium can put the ashes in a basic urn, and then help transfer the ashes to a permanent urn once you acquire it. Some people will even take the temporary urn and put it directly into the permanent urn if it is a larger box and it fits.
